Pass A Grille Way Utility Reconstruction

The improvements under this contract consisted of replacing all the existing utilities through the right of way including potable water, reclaimed water, sanitary sewer main, storm water, sea wall outfalls, as well as providing new conduit for all the communication and electrical through the project. The roadway was then completely rebuilt with new curb and sidewalks on both sides.

Some of the major scope elements for the utility improvements included:

  • 3,700 LF of 18” sanitary sewer pipe

  • 7,200 LF of 18”-30” storm drain pipe

  • 187 storm inlet structures

  • 11 storm water baffle boxes & seawall penetrations

  • 4,600 LF of 16” reclaimed water main

  • 4,500 LF of 16” potable water main

  • 4,400 LF of 8” potable water main

  • 114,000 LF of conduit pipe

All utilities had to be replaced while keeping the existing utilities active so there would be no interruption of service.

The major scope elements for the roadway improvements included:

  • 22,000 SY of road building

  • 3,000 TN of asphalt placement

  • 11,100 LF of curb

  • 7,100 SY of sidewalk

The roadway had to be rebuilt while maintaining traffic in both directions, with limited detours along a 55’-60’ wide corridor, forcing the road to be built one lane at a time. Other improvements included retaining walls, pavement markings, signage and sod.
