Peter O’Knight Airport
The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority needed more airplane hangar capacity and improvements made to the existing runways and taxiways. In October of 2008 the project was bid and awarded to DNCC with a construction schedule of 360 days. Some of the major elements of the work included new infrastructure with clearing and earthwork, storm drainage, water, sanitary sewer, water lines, service roads, a new T-Hanger building, and infrastructure that will allow the airport to add 11 more buildings in the future. Also included were repairs and asphalt rehabilitation to some of the existing runways and taxiways as well as the construction of a new run-up area, taxiway, and taxiway lighting. The project was completed on time in October of 2009.
