USF New Entry
This design-build project consists of the construction of a new access point to USF’s Tampa campus at Fletcher Avenue and N. 46th Street as well as the extension of Laurel Drive, including a roundabout with connectivity to the newly constructed campus Publix.
Work elements include full signalization of the new intersection, construction of a new parking lot on USF’s campus, associated storm and utility work to support the new construction, brick paver crosswalks, extensive landscaping and site lighting consistent with University safety standards. Additionally, DNCC staff are administering the Owner Direct Purchase program to save the University tax dollars associated with the procurement of materials.
The GMP for this project was established at 50% plans. Despite challenges that arose with the completion of projects adjacent to the project limits of this effort, the project is tracking well within time and budget. This project was completed in August 2019 ahead of student move-in for the fall semester.
