Keystone Road
Keystone Road, located in Northern Pinellas County, Florida, was in need of expansion due to the high volume of commercial and residential traffic as the road is a major corridor connecting Pasco & Hillsborough Counties to Pinellas. The scope of work included the replacement, relocation and addition of above and below ground utilities and the expansion of over three miles of roadway from two to four lanes. Project elements include clearing, extensive earthwork, maintenance of traffic, construction of 8 storm water retention ponds, over 34,000 LF of new storm drainage ranging in size from 15” to 72” in diameter, over 30,300 LF of water, reclaimed and force mains ranging from 2” to 36” in diameter, over 42,800 LF of gas and Verizon mains/conduit, 30 structural walls including 1550 CY of concrete retaining walls, 75,000 SF of MSE walls, and nearly 105,000 SF of concrete & steel sheet pile walls, curbs, sidewalks, concrete gravity wall, stabilization, base, asphalt paving, signalization, signing, pavement marking, fence, handrail and sodding. The project also included the construction of a two mile section of the Pinellas Trail. All of the work was completed while maintaining the traffic flow on temporary pavement and the existing road utilizing multiple traffic switches and construction phases.
